JOHN

Since 1996, John Zappola has been a high school football and basketball PA announcer. He was the TV Timeout Coordinator for Thursday night live high school football telecasts, Ohio high school state semifinal, championship games, and Ohio State high school basketball championship games.

John brings the knowledge and experience of what a live presentation should sound like. All elements of a sporting event must sound great, from your announcer to the pre-game music, timeout music, and halftime cheerleaders music. He knows that athletic venues are used for events other than games. John recognizes the need for flexibility and ease of setup for assemblies, pep rallies, graduations, and other special non-sporting events.

John’s long-time involvement in the live event industry and high school sports brings an experienced perspective on identifying how to accomplish your audio goals. He has an extensive list of references to back this up.

John is a life-long resident of Northeast Ohio and lives with his wife, Phyllis, in Aurora, OH. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling, visiting and playing with the grandkids, getting out on the golf course, and watching and attending Ohio high school football and basketball games.

MARC

Marc Warling is a veteran audio engineer with over 45 years of hands-on experience designing and installing professional sound systems across a wide range of venues. His career began in the early 1980s, sparked by a fascination with electronics and a deep appreciation for music and acoustics. What started as a hobby tinkering with sound equipment quickly evolved into a lifelong profession. Over the decades, Marc has built a reputation for technical precision, creative problem-solving, and a keen ear for sound clarity in even the most acoustic challenging spaces.

Throughout his career, Marc has worked on hundreds of installations, ranging from massive sports stadiums and multi-purpose gyms to school auditoriums and houses of worship. His projects have taken him across the country, where he has tailored each sound system to the unique architecture and purpose of the venue. Whether optimizing the acoustics in a 20,000-seat arena or ensuring speech intelligibility in a small-town

church, his work consistently delivered high-impact results that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. A key part of Marc’s success lies in his ability to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technology and real-world usability. He stays current with the latest in digital signal processing, wireless systems, and audio networking, but never loses sight of the practical needs of the end users.

Over the years, he has trained countless technicians and volunteers, making sure that every system he installs is not only high performing but also, easy to operate and maintain. He remains a respected and experienced design and install professional.
